Discover art and culture
The church of Kankaanpää is a neoclassical Greek-cross church. Its tower is 24 metres high, and its hanging dome is 16 metres high. These measurements highlight two distinctive features of the building and offer a starting point for appreciating its architecture. In town, Taidekehä adds to the cultural offering: the growing collection includes more than 100 works of art permanently installed in Kankaanpää’s urban environment. You can explore them on foot along the Taidepolku art trail or by following the art loop. These are two named options for a walk among the artworks.
Kankaanpään Galleria is an exhibition venue run by the Kankaanpää Art Society, with exhibitions that change regularly, usually every month. In Niinisalo, the Kankaanpää City Museum is housed in a former school building on the Pori–Jyväskylä highway. The museum collects, preserves and studies the region’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Through exhibitions, information resources and various events, it shares this heritage with the public. The gallery and museum therefore offer different ways to explore exhibitions or regional culture.
