Citonice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in the village square of Citonice. A blue-marked hiking trail from Znojmo to Olbramkostel passes by the local Church of Saints John and Paul.

Culture

The late Baroque Roman Catholic parish Church of Saints John and Paul in Citonice was built in 1768–1769. It is a longitudinal single-nave building with a set-back, semicircular-ended presbytery, a four-sided sacristy with an oratory above it, and a prismatic tower.

There are also named cultural and memorial sites in the immediate surroundings: Karlslust Castle is a castle in the vicinity of Citonice. Lange Marter, Saint Hubertus and Heimatkreuz are shrines in the vicinity of Citonice.

The Citonické posvícení took place from 26 to 28 September 2025. The programme included erecting the maypole, a traditional procession through the village, a dance event, and performances by the Vinařinka band and the folk-costumed youth group.

Routes and Activities

Near Příčky, a green-marked trail leads from Citonice to a ruin; the route is approximately two kilometres long. The Citonice–Hrádek hiking trail is 10.0 km long.

The Citonice angling association operates sport fishing at Mlýnek Pond.

Landscape

Podyjí National Park lies south of Citonice, while Jevišovka Nature Park lies to the north. The mountains Příčník, Václavský Kopec, Schwalbenfelsen and Binderberg are located in the vicinity of Citonice.

The Znojmo–Moravské Budějovice railway line runs northeast of Citonice.
