Zaborci: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Near Záborčí lies Drábovna, a small rock town on the right bank of the Jizera. Between sandstone formations, traces of historical settlement and signposted trails, the landscape reveals itself in many distinctive facets.

Landscape

At Drábovna, there are remains of a Neolithic settlement and a medieval castle. The rocky landscape includes sandstone blocks, numerous mushroom- or honeycomb-shaped rock formations, as well as small caves called Foukané díry.

Hiking trails

A blue-marked hiking trail to Drábovna leads uphill through Záborčí. The blue-marked route to Drábovna is 3 kilometres long.

The Zlatá stezka Českého ráje also leads from Dolánky via Bukovina and Záborčí to Drábovna. The fourth day of this trail is a 12-kilometre stage from Turnov to Malá Skála. On the section of the Zlatá stezka Českého ráje via Záborčí, a first-class road is crossed.

The “Vazoveckým údolím kolem Drábovny” route is 12 kilometres long and has an elevation gain of 221 metres. It leads from U Voděrad via Záborčí to the main road between Malá Skála and Turnov. It is stated to be suitable for pushchairs and senior citizens.

Views

The built-up area of Záborčí offers views of the Jizera Valley, the Vranovský hřbet and the Suché skály, as well as glimpses of Trosky.

History and culture

Army General Alois Liška was born in Záborčí near Malá Skála. Záborčí is also home to a relief wayside cross designated as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
