Ryzovna: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

History and Culture

St. Wenceslas Church in Ryžovna was built at the beginning of the 19th century in the Josephine style. A memorial cross, a miniature of St. Wenceslas Church, and a memorial plaque on a stone mound mark the former site of St. Wenceslas Church.

Ryžovna was founded around the middle of the 16th century. The name of the settlement derives from washing tin ore out of gravelly sediment. The Ryžovna war memorial to those who fell in the First World War was erected in 1930 and commemorates a total of 42 soldiers from Ryžovna who fell, died, or went missing. Every year, gatherings dedicated to St. Wenceslas are held in Ryžovna on the occasion of the Feast of St. Wenceslas.

Trails

Ryžovna can be reached on foot, by bicycle, or by car via a tourist route. The Cínová stezka, known in German as Zinnweg, runs between Boží Dar and Ryžovna. The Cínová stezka was created as a symbol of cross-border cooperation between the Czech Republic and Saxony.

A nature trail with 23 stops runs along the Blatenský vodní příkop for approximately 12 kilometres. On its route from the Božídarské rašeliniště, the Blatenský vodní příkop passed through Myslivny and Ryžovna to Bludná. The Cínová stezka project aimed to preserve, protect, and further develop the natural and cultural heritage, as well as improve the tourist visitor infrastructure in the Central Ore Mountains.
