Elevation and Water
Neusattl lies in the Karlovarský kraj at an elevation of 440 to 484 metres above sea level. Pískový Vrch is the highest point of the Chodovská pánev. The elevation given for the town and the named highest point of the basin offer two different reference points for understanding the landscape geographically.
The waterways also have different roles: Loučský potok drains the Neusattl area and flows into the Ohře before Loket. The small Novosedelský potok is a tributary that drains the central part of the town. Thus, the drainage of the area as far as the Ohře and that of a central part of the town are two different scales side by side.
The artificially created multipurpose water area “Anna” covers four hectares. Unlike the two waterways, it is an area with an explicitly stated multipurpose function. Its size gives this landscape feature a clear scale and distinguishes it from the waterways that drain the town area.
Cycling and Art
In Malá Anna, the Centrum cyklistiky Nové Sedlo includes a newly built, technically demanding one-way trail. It is intended for sports and recreational use by the general public and was completed in August 2026. The one-way route describes the trail, while sport and recreation define its intended uses. This makes cycling a clear focus for trip planning.
Another cultural feature is “Trouba z Jericha”, a work in public space by the prominent Czech sculptor Aleš Veselý. It is described as unique in Bohemia. The artist’s name and this distinctive description give Neusattl’s public art a particular point of reference alongside the town’s architectural history.
Chapel and Memorial
The stone Baroque chapel stands on the southern edge of Neusattl, at a major crossroads on the road to Loket. The Engel family built it in the first half of the 18th century. After 1945, it was no longer maintained and gradually fell into disrepair; its interior furnishings were stolen. Its location at the crossroads and the timeline of its construction and subsequent decay give the building different historical dimensions.
Another historical reference is the “Památník padlých bojovníků I. a II. odboje”, which the town classifies under Museums. Its name commemorates the fallen fighters of the first and second resistance movements. Together with the chapel and the work of art, it offers a cultural perspective beyond architectural history alone.
