Kukljica: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A special cultural event in Kukljica is the traditional boat procession on 5 August, which has been celebrated since 1514. During the procession, the image of the Virgin Mary is transported by sea from the votive church of Gospe od Sniga in Ždrelašćica Bay to the parish church of Sv. Pavla.

Culture

The votive church of Gospe od Sniga is located in the Ždrelac Strait between Ugljan and Pašman. It features Baroque characteristics from the 17th century and has been protected by the state as a cultural monument since 1982. The present-day church of Sv. Pavla was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1666; the parish church of Sv. Pavla is located in the centre of Kukljica. Construction of its bell tower began in 1741.

The Church of Sv. Jerolima is located in Kostanj Bay northwest of Kukljica and is dated by historians to the 14th century. It was restored, completed and consecrated in July 1997. The area around Kukljica is also home to Sv. Mihovil Castle, Zadar Fortress, the historic site Old Town Centre and Saint Simeon Church.

Coast and Nature

The Lungomare paths lead through olive groves and dense pine forest. Sabuša Beach combines sandy and concrete areas and is bordered by a pine forest. Kostanj Bay has a sandy beach suitable for anchoring small boats. Jelenica naturist beach near Sabuša Beach is surrounded by olive trees.

The islands of Otočić Golac, Otočić Mišnjak, Otočić Bisage and Otočić Školj Veli are located in the immediate vicinity of Kukljica.

On the Water

Small rowing boats can be rented in Kukljica and at the Zelena Punta holiday resort. A valid permit issued by the Croatian Diving Federation is required for diving in Kukljica.
