Culture and History

The parish church of Saint Peter the Apostle dates from 1852 and has a bell tower from 1875. There are also the Chapel of St Nediljice from 1930 and the Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul from 1963.

Siverić is associated with Krsto Odak (1888–1965), a Croatian composer and music educator who originated from the village. His Slavonic Masses and predominantly sacred vocal works draw on the popular ecclesiastical tradition; his opera Dorica pleše uses folkloric elements.

The history of the village also includes mining: Siverić was once one of the most important mining centres on the Adriatic coast in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Emperor Franz Joseph I visited the Siverić mine in 1875. An educational trail to the entrance of the former mine in Siverić includes cleared land, information boards and an installed entrance door.

Hiking

A marked hiking route from Siverić to a mountain hut is described as taking around two hours. The “Drniš-Siverić-PD Promina-Vrh Čavnovka” hiking route begins in Siverić. At one point on the route between Siverić and Promina, Liluša Cave is indicated as being 15 minutes away.

A hiking descent towards Siverić leads to the Chapel of St Nediljice; from there, the route continues along a macadam road to the village.

Cycling

The Petrovo polje cycling route passes through Siverić. The ascent to Siverić on this route includes a steep, physically demanding, two-kilometre-long asphalt climb. After leaving Siverić, the route descends towards Tepljuh and crosses the D-33 road; cyclists are advised to exercise caution there.
