Culture and history

A new bell tower was built at Lazarica in 1935. In 1940, Lazarica became a monastery and a metochion of Krka Monastery.

After suffering war damage, Sveta Lazarica was gradually restored from the late 1990s until 2012. The artistically decorated iconostasis was commissioned in 1902; its icons were painted by the master Toša.

Traditionally, a Vidovdan gathering is held at Sveta Lazarica on 28 June. Ilindanski susreti is listed as a cultural event associated with Zvjerinac in Biskupija.
