For longer outings, there are several named routes with specific distance and duration information. Tragom starih Ilira is an 8.5-kilometre circular hiking trail with a walking time of about 3 hours. Claustra s okusom soli starts in Žurkovo, is just under 8 kilometres long and takes about two and a half hours to complete. Put kostrenskih počivala follows historic resting places; the route is 11 kilometres long and takes about three and a half hours to walk.

Traditions, flavours and getting around
Recurring traditional events include Ususret Uskrsu and Marća po Kostrene. Ususret Uskrsu takes place in Kostrena every year on Palm Sunday and features creative workshops for different groups of visitors. Marća po Kostrene is a traditional procession held on Shrove Tuesday.
One of Kostrena’s specialities is Kostrenska torta. You can try it or order it at Snjeguljica, where it originated. Kostrena can be reached from Rijeka by local bus. Nova Voda Beach has changing rooms and showers, which were put into service before the start of the bathing season.
