In the immediate surroundings of Mihelići, the Žbandajska trobrodna župna crkva sv. Ivana i Pavla mučenika, the parish church of Saints John and Paul, stands in Žbandaj. It was built in 1595 on the site of an older church, a former religious building. Its bell tower is 20 metres high. Inside are several works of art as well as a holy-water font dating from 1688.
Nature
Near Nova Vas lies Baredine Pit, a protected geomorphological natural monument open to visitors. A tourist trail leads through five chambers to a depth of 60 metres. The visitor complex at Baredine Cave also includes the Speleolit Speleoclimbing Centre. Baredine Pit offers encounters with Proteus anguinus, an endemic species of the karst regions.
Trails through Istria
In the wider area around Poreč, there are ten cycling routes with a total length of approximately 250 kilometres. The routes pass through vineyards and olive groves and are presented both for recreational cyclists and for sports training. Route 141 MAXIMUS AGRI follows the former Roman road Maximus Agri and joins the Parenzana railway-track trail near its end.
Route 545 Do Istarske konobe runs along white roads, through vineyard fields and shady forest paths before reaching Filipini. The Veleniki - Mihelici - Vrznaveri - Kosinovići - Vrvari route runs mostly on unpaved roads and smaller, rideable cycling paths. The Veleniki–Mihelići–Vržnaveri–Kosinovići–Vrvari route is described as an 8.26-mile mountain biking trail.
