Salakovci: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
A particularly distinctive route leads on the Pula–Labin stage of EuroVelo 8 from Trget steeply uphill along the ŽC5103 to Salakovci and onward to the medieval town of Labin. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Salakovci will plan their trip around this destination.
Cycling
The EuroVelo 8 guide classifies the Salakovci–Labin section as a route with moderate traffic levels. The official Arsia MTB course also runs from Raša via Trget, Skitača and Salakovci back to Raša; along the way, it follows both paved sections and gravel paths.
The official cycling route 405 Clear-Eyed Lucy runs through Salakovci, Viškovići and Brovinj to Skitača. The Bistrooka Lucija cycling route runs from Labin via Salakovci, Viškovići, Brovinje, Skitača and Sv. Marina back to Labin.
The tourism information service classified Istria300 as the fifth international recreational road cycling marathon for 2025. At the 2025 Istria300 Marathon, participants could choose between three route lengths of 135 km, 209 km and 300 km. The announcement also listed a corridor from Skitača via Ravni, Salakovci and Labin to Šumber and Potpićan.
Hiking
The Labin hiking trail is connected via a trail junction to a route from Gore Glušići via Markoni to Salakovci and onward via Vlaška to Donišnica.
Landscape
Mount Brestovica is located in the immediate vicinity of Salakovci. Mount Goli, Mount Standar and another mountain also called Standar are located in the surrounding area.
Culture
The National Museum of Labin in the Battiala Lazzarini Palace presents the town’s mining history with tunnels and a mine, unique in this part of Europe. In the wider regional surroundings of Salakovci are the ancient site of Vižače, Dvigrad Castle, the Soardo-Bembo Palace and the Archaeological Museum of Istria.
