Bijele Zemlje: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

Sv. Ivan in Bijele Zemlje is designated as an archaeological site. The Church of Saint John the Baptist near Sv. Ivan is designated as a sacred building.

The Church of Saint Mary of Baštija was built in the 14th century and restored in 1610 and 2000. Historically, it was an important meeting place for sailors and local residents. Baštija is considered the former port of Grožnjan and an important place for loading and unloading goods in the Middle Ages and the early modern period.

Ponte Porton is home to Konoba Ponte Porton, a food and beverage establishment.

Cycling and trails

The official Istria Bike Trail 211 North-Northwest runs through Ponte Porton; Ponte Porton is located within the settlement of Bijele Zemlje.

A 31.3-kilometre cycling route of moderate difficulty runs from Buje via Krasica, Bijele Zemlje and Ponte Porton to the Mirna Valley. After the initial climb, the section through Bijele Zemlje runs predominantly downhill towards the river. At kilometre 18.6, the route turns uphill towards Nova Vas and Brtonigla.

A published cycling route leads through Bijele Zemlje to the Mirna and follows the river to kilometre 18.6. On the return journey towards Buje, this route follows the main roads Novigrad–Buje and Umag–Buje before leading into the centre of Buje on a side road.

The two-kilometre Ponte Porton–Baštija trail begins at a car park next to a catering establishment in Ponte Porton. It follows a road downstream along the right bank of the Mirna and reaches the single-nave Church of Saint Mary of Baštija after 1.5 kilometres.

Climbers spontaneously meet in the area of the planned Ponte Porton climbing site.
