Rudina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rudina consists of Velike Rudine and Male Rudine, two rural settlements located about 500 metres apart. Velike Rudine date back to the 15th century and have been mentioned since the 14th century; Male Rudine were established in the 17th century by settlers from Gdinj. Velike Rudine are located on the ridge of the Kabal Peninsula overlooking the bay of Stari Grad, while Male Rudine lie on slopes overlooking the Hvar Channel opposite Bol on Brač.

Getting Around

An official cycling route, Route 21, continues across the Kabal Peninsula to Rudina after passing through Vrbanj, Svirče and Grebišće. The tourist board provides a GPS file for this route and warns that parts of it are not perfectly marked.

From Male Rudine, visitors can reach the Rudina beaches of Žukova, Lisna, Duboka and Trovna on foot in about ten minutes.

Culture and History

Spanish Fortress is a castle located approximately in the surrounding area of Rudina.

The Church of St Roch stands in Velike Rudine, while Male Rudine has a chapel dedicated to Saint Roch. The buildings and ruins of Rudina are described as protected cultural heritage.
