Cultural heritage sites associated with Topolo include the Church of St Luke with stećci, the Church of the Nativity of Mary with stećci, and the Church of St Stephen. Several archaeological sites complete this picture: the prehistoric and ancient hilltop settlement of Veliki Lukovac, prehistoric burial mounds near Sokolova gruda, a Roman villa rustica, and medieval stećci beside the churches of Mala Gospa and St Luke.

The parish in Topolo was founded in 1620 and is dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, locally known as Mala Gospa. The parish church of Mala Gospa was built in the Baroque style in the 17th century; next to the parish church in Topolo lies a necropolis dating from the 15th century.

The Church of St Stephen in Topolo dates from the 10th century. Its doorjambs bear carvings in the style of old Croatian interlace. It stands on a small plateau above a fertile field between Imotica and Topolo.
