Sisak: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Sisak, prominent evidence of Roman and medieval history meets the Kupa and Sava rivers. Stari grad Fortress is a 16th-century defensive monument, associated with the Battle of Sisak in 1593, and located at the confluence of the Kupa and Sava. Siscia in situ Archaeological Park preserves Roman remains, including a south-western defensive wall with a tower from the late 2nd or early 3rd century, as well as the remains of a horreum, i.e. a granary, from the early 4th century.

Culture

The sculpture park, created by the Željezara Sisak artists' colony, is located in Caprag, Sisak, and is listed in the Croatian Register of Cultural Goods. Stari grad is closed to visitors due to damage caused by the earthquake of 29 December 2020.

Getting Around

Sisak offers adaptable walking routes of at least 5 km in length and a cycling route of approximately 30 km focusing on industrial heritage and other cultural and historical sites.

Water-based activities on the Kupa include kayaking, canoeing, trips in traditional boats, and organised canoe descents with breaks and local cuisine experiences.
