Nature and Trails

The Podunavski hiking trail begins at Mišino brdo before Aljmaš, passes through Aljmaš, follows the Danube and ends in Erdut. The complete route takes around five hours and runs through terrain that is not technically or physically demanding. The trail is intended for hikers, nature lovers and tourists outside the organising association as well; it also includes the ascent to the Kalvarija viewpoint.

The old Drava Canal, which flows into the Danube near Aljmaš, is considered an excellent area for sport fishing.

Culture and History

Gospa pod Lipom is an excursion destination reached through a centuries-old oak forest. The place takes its name from the lime trees planted around a chapel near a water source.

The Memorial Centre is located in a former military bunker below Aljmaš Kalvarija. It allows visitors to independently view sacred, local and artistic works, historical documents, themed exhibitions and two chapels. The permanent exhibition includes paintings and sculptures created by academic painters and sculptors during the Homeland War.

Pilgrimages to the Svetište Aljmaš can be organised on any day of the year. The church in Aljmaš is a cultural monument; its restored statue of the Virgin Mary returned to Aljmaš in 1998, and the restoration of the church was completed in 2007. The Gospe od Utočišta shrine in Aljmaš became a renowned sanctuary in 1704.

Cuisine and Wine

The local tourism offering includes traditional food and drinks from the Danube region, including catfish perkelt with cheese noodles, homemade rakija and liqueurs, cakes and pastries. VINCENT is an excursion destination centred around wine in Aljmaš, with a capacity of 50 visitors.
