Zlatar Bistrica: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Zlatar Bistrica is home to the parish church Župna crkva sv. Ivana Krstitelja and the Chapel of St. Lawrence. The parish church was built in 1997 based on a design by the architect Giorgio Montina. Its tent-like roof extends upwards into a lantern-like form. The Chapel of St. Lawrence has been preserved and features a Gothic sanctuary that terminates in three sides of an octagon.

Culture and History

Dvorac Lovrečan was built at the transition from the 18th to the 19th century. The building is registered under code Z-2086 as protected immovable cultural heritage and classified as secular architectural heritage. It is located near Lovrečan in the municipality of Zlatar-Bistrica on a large estate south of the Zabok–Zlatar road.

The 24th Međunarodno vozočašće konjskih zaprega u Mariju Bistricu is a traditional event with a 24-year history.

Landscape and Trails

The Šumarica route leads through the Šinjačkovina forest, a wooded landscape associated with the former estate of the Šišinački family. The Javorova staza zdravlja is considered an easy recreational hike of approximately ten kilometres, suitable for all age groups.

Special Places

ZOO Ervenik is located at Ervenik 86 in Zlatar Bistrica. Around 150 birds, 20 goats and two Vietnamese pigs are kept there. ZOO Ervenik welcomes visitors by appointment, preferably arranged two days in advance.
