The Bedekovčina Lakes are interconnected, enclosed water systems. They reach depths of up to five metres, have underwater vegetation and are home predominantly to fish from the carp family. Fishing is possible from 1 January to 31 December, provided the lakes are not frozen. You need a valid day or annual permit to fish; it must be purchased before entering the water. The ŠRD “Jezera” sports fishing club runs competitive fishing at the lakes in three disciplines: float fishing, carp fishing and perch fishing. Wine fair and musical tradition
At the end of May, the Zagorje Wine Fair and Exhibition takes place at the Bedekovčina Lakes. It upholds a tradition dating back more than half a century and brings together winemakers and winegrowers from Zagorje. The “Igrajte nam mužikaši” festival also has a 50-year tradition. It brings together folk and popular music ensembles and soloists from Zagorje, who perform in the kajkavian dialect. Landscape and orientation
Strugača, also known as Komorska gora, is a 375-metre-high mountain on the border of the municipalities of Bedekovčina, Mihovljan, Sveti Križ Začretje and Mače, as well as the City of Krapina. Its steep slopes are made up of Triassic dolomite.
The Varaždin–Zagreb railway line runs through Bedekovčina. It is another geographical reference point for planning your trip.
