Kloštar Podravski is home to the Gothic parish church of St. Benedict, which was remodelled in the Baroque style in the 18th century. The village has a documented history of medieval settlement connected with the former Franciscan monastery, which existed from 1292 to 1552. The present-day settlement developed from the late 17th century onwards; the parish of St. Benedict was re-established in 1702.

The Kaštel Gorbonuk archaeological site is recorded in Kloštar Podravski and lies approximately 500 metres north of the church of “St. Benedict and Our Lady of Sorrows”.

Landscape

Kloštranski Peski is considered a sandy, open landscape with a distinctive natural environment. It also served as the setting for filming a commercial for the ninth season of MasterChef.
