Rešetari: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rešetari was first recorded in 1407 under the name Resetarowich villa. The settlement is considered to be located along the Rešetarica watercourse, between the hills of Versela and Čerkenjac.

Four mills were associated with the Rešetarica, including one above and one below the village. Nearby is Zapolje, whose medieval noble estate was first mentioned in 1258. The old Church of Saint Nicholas in Zapolje is said to stand on the site of an older Gothic church; it was mentioned in 1660. Gradina in Zapolje is described as possible remains of the noble town of Zapolja. Puharina is a protected archaeological site.

Events

The Petrović art colony takes place in Rešetari’s municipal park; in 2026, it reached its 28th edition. Kestenijada is a regular autumn event centered around roasted chestnuts. It also includes concerts and a local football match.

The long-running event Rešetarački susreti pjesnika brings poetry enthusiasts from Croatia and abroad together. Rešetarački pleter is a cultural and artistic gathering of Croatian minority associations from across Europe and dates back to 1988. Rešetaračko proljeće is a poetry evening organized by KLD Rešetari, featuring guest authors and local writers.

The recurring folklore event Kolo na Medanu takes place in Drežnik. It includes traditional costumes, singing, dancing, and a communal kolo on the village square. Rešetari also hosts the recurring Šokac equestrian event “Kad bećari šorom zapivaju”, during which riders parade through the streets of the place. The football stadium of the Ivo Petranović Sports and Recreation Centre hosted the final of the junior cup of the Nova Gradiška Football Association.

Viticulture

Through the producer Vino Ozren Kraljić, Rešetari is connected to the Cernik wine-growing region.
