Culture and History

The Ekimdzhiev House is more than 130 years old and presents the multimedia exhibition “Marin Varbanov. The Prince of Oryahovo”. It is also part of the spatial ensemble of Diko Iliev Square. The “Diko Iliev and the Brass Bands” House Museum presents an exhibition about urban life in the 1920s and 1930s. The “Folk Life and Culture” exhibition is presented in the Ethnographic House.

The “Prof. Marin Varbanov” Art Gallery periodically opens exhibitions by guest artists. The “Archaeology” exhibition is shown in the main building of the Oryahovo History Museum; there is also a hall for temporary exhibitions. The Centre for Cultural and Historical Heritage in Oryahovo provides information services for visitors to the municipality, produces videos about local rituals and traditions, and records performances of folk songs as well as reconstructions of traditional regional rituals.

The courtyard of the Ethnographic House has a covered area with benches and a table for reenactments of patriotic activities. The Museum of History, Oryahovo is open year-round for paid visits, and a guide is available to visitors. People with disabilities have free access. The museum is located in the central part of the town near a road.

The Ethnographic House is located near Oryahovo bus station and is a five-minute walk from the town centre.

Nature and Trails

Kamaka is open year-round and can be visited free of charge. Access is via a paved road for pedestrians and cars; organised transport and guide services are not available.
