Borovan: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Borovan is home to documented traces of a large Thracian-Roman settlement. These include graves, pottery, and coins from the Roman period. The Borovan Mound also preserves the foundations of walls and towers from a Late Roman fortress, as well as the remains of a medieval Bulgarian settlement.

Borovan lies along the historic route associated with Hristo Botev’s passage in 1876 from the bank near Kozloduy towards the Vratsa Balkan. The route later became part of the Botev Trail memorial complex and is used annually by Botev pilgrims.
