The protected area “Kamchiya” includes land in the villages of Bliznatsi, Dabravino, Krusha, Kitka, Ravna Gora and Sadovo in Avren Municipality. The Kamchia Reserve covers 842.1 hectares. A total of 258 bird species have been recorded in the area, and visitors can hike along marked trails. Also in Tsarevtsi, the “Tsarkva – uchilishte” museum complex allows tourists to observe the carpet-weaving process. Together, the architectural heritage, ethnographic collection and insight into traditional crafts offer different ways to experience the municipality’s culture.

Customs are also part of Avren’s cultural character: Koledari and Lazaruvane are still practised in the municipality’s settlements.
