Presoka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Mount St. Nedelya is located in Presoka. A fortress stands on its summit and is considered to be around 300 years old. Those visiting Presoka for the St. Nedelya Eco-trail can include renting a holiday apartment in their travel plans.

Things to Do

The St. Nedelya Eco-trail is 12 km long and takes around three hours to complete, ascending approximately 400 metres. The route is marked with blue trail markers and wooden signs. It includes a well with a rest area, a bivouac site, the protected structure known as Bunker, and a viewpoint offering panoramic views. The Eco-trail also crosses the road to Presoka and ends at Mount St. Nedelya, which is 865 metres high.

Presoka is home to mountain huts associated with the state forestry service, Belotex AD and Villa Elit. Another route is the 8 km Zlatograd–St. Nedelya–Startsevo–White Stones cycling route.

Culture

A sanctuary dedicated to the sun god is located at White Stones. The Zlatograd Ethnographic Areal Complex is an open-air museum with an ethnographic museum, craft workshops and exhibitions on water equipment. Three water installations at Vuntsov's Mill are still in operation.

The Zlatograd Ethnographic Areal Complex is open year-round; admission is subject to a fee. It is associated with hotels, guesthouses and restaurants. Bulgarian holidays and customs are presented in traditional form at the complex.

Landscape

The Municipality of Zlatograd lists wild orchids, spring snowflake, holly, mountain snowdrop and Rhodope podrumiche among the area's rare plants. It counts rare birds, reptiles and amphibians among the area's highland fauna.
