Nedelino: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Those wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Nedelino can continue their accommodation search afterwards. The local double-singing tradition is described as an independent Rhodope singing tradition and the only example of double singing in the Rhodopes. Around 350 songs have been collected and recorded.

Culture

Nedelino hosts a national folklore festival with international participation dedicated to double singing and folk songs. It is organized by the municipality and the Ministry of Culture, usually on the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in September. The events traditionally take place in the town’s central square.

Celebrations for St. George’s Day take place at the Turchin Bridge in Nedelino. The double singing of Nedelino was declared a „Living Human Treasure of Bulgaria“ by the Ministry of Culture. Nedelino also has twelve medieval bridges.

History and Trails

Archaeological research documents human presence in present-day Nedelino and its surroundings from the Neolithic period to the present.

The Nedelino–St. Nedelya tourist trail was implemented as an integrated tourism product.

Geographical Location

The municipality of Nedelino can be reached by car and bus. Road II-86 is described as a secondary road crossing this part of the Rhodopes and running along a route between Plovdiv, Smolyan, Nedelino, Zlatograd, and the Greek border near Xanthi.

The municipality of Nedelino has a tourist information center that opened in 2005.
