Local Life

A winery operating in Brestnik has vineyards within the village and grows Merlot, Cabernet, Mavrud, and Rubin for red wine production. The Trifon Zarezan Winery, which is associated with wine tourism, is also part of the local profile.

The Dragomir Wine Estate is located on a hill near Brestnik. It focuses on Bulgarian grape varieties from the Thracian Valley, including Mavrud and Rubin, and offers wine tastings.

History

The Orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker in Brestnik was built by local residents in 1861.

A local legend connects Brestnik with the site of Manastirskoto. It recounts that villagers joined a local landowner for protection while Circassians and Turks frequently passed through the area.
