Culture

The Ivan Vazov House Museum is located in an 18th-century house where Ivan Vazov lived for about a year and a half. It preserves the architecture, two internal bathrooms and carved ceilings, and presents a permanent exhibition about his life and work.

The Ethnographic Museum of Berkovitsa comprises more than 15,000 objects. These include Berkovitsa ceramics, copper vessels, textiles, jewellery, traditional costumes and Chiprovtsi carpets. The exhibitions cover the local material and spiritual culture, traditional crafts, and urban life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The municipal museum and cultural heritage cluster of Berkovitsa includes the Ivan Vazov House Museum, the Otec Paisiy Art Gallery, the Ethnographic Museum, the Yordan Radichkov Cultural Centre, the Clock Tower, historic churches, the Turkish Bath, the Malinarka Fountain, the Kaleto Fortress, Klisura Monastery and a miniature park.
