Vrabtsite: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The area of Lyulyatsi, which includes Vrabtsite, contains the remains of Roman fortifications and the Thracian sanctuary of Moroveshkite Skali. At the same time, Lyulyatsi is considered an area of picturesque mountain landscapes and panoramic views that support relaxation and tourism.

Nature and Culture

Lyulyatsite was designated as a protected area to preserve the characteristic beech forests of the region. The area lies on an 840-metre-high hill with sheer rocks and lilac bushes. The farm's cattle are kept free-range on the high mountain pastures of the Stara Planina.

Trails and Excursions

The Debel Dyal–Lyulyatsi nature trail is approximately three kilometres long and connects Lyulyatsite with Debel Dyal. It passes through herb-rich meadows, cool woodland and rocky cliffs with lilac bushes and fragrant geraniums. Its rocky plateau is crossed via stone steps and with the aid of a railing.

The trail begins in Debel Dyal or at the Lyulyatsite Hotel, takes about an hour and is marked with signposts. Shortly before the halfway point, when coming from Debel Dyal, there is a shelter with a drinking fountain. Along the way, there are views of Vitata Stena, Gabrovo and the surrounding region.

Lyulyatsite is also the starting point for several tourist routes through centuries-old beech forests towards Uzana, Gabrovo and the surrounding villages. The Lyulyatsi recreation area includes walking trails; it is also associated with drives to the Uzana area and Etar.

Staying Locally

The Lyulyatsi Hotel offers a restaurant, café-bar, billiards, table tennis and parking. Lyulyatsite is also home to a hotel complex with modern balneology facilities that welcomes guests year-round.

When planning a trip to Vrabtsite, renting a holiday apartment may be part of your plans.

Agriculture and Regional Products

Vrabtsite is home to the Skakalovi family's dairy farm, which has existed there for several decades. The farm continues a livestock-raising tradition passed down through generations. Its product range includes fresh milk, traditional cheeses and Kashkaval; the dairy products are made according to old recipes.

In February 2024, the Vrabtsite family farm sold several types of cheese at a farmers' market, including unsalted cheese. The farm's dairy products are also associated with the Gabrovo farmers' market. The farm has a regular local customer base.
