Culture and Museum

Tervel showcases its history and local culture at several specific sites. The municipal museum on Khan Asparuh Street features a dedicated hall on Khan Tervel, spiritual heritage, ethnography, local crafts, and an art gallery. The museum gallery's collection comprises 270 works.

The Ethnographic Hall contains more than 980 exhibits. A reconstructed bread room is part of the presentation of traditional domestic interiors. Near Onogur stood the late antique and medieval Palmate Fortress on the Roman road from Durostorum to Marcianopolis. It served as a secular, religious, and administrative center. Also nearby is the Gyaur Evleri rock monastery complex, with a church and nine monks' cells carved into a three-tiered rock face.

Tervel hosts the Dobruzhanski Folklore Festival, a forum for the folklore of the Dobrudja. It takes place in the town center on two stages and is occasionally complemented by a craft market.

Nearby, within Tervel Municipality, a hiking loop begins at a dam near Onogur. It passes caves, rock monasteries such as Monetarnitsata, and the remains of the Balishka Fortress before returning to the dam.
