The history of hop growing is also part of Auberg’s identity. The importance of hops is symbolized by a hop cone in Auberg’s municipal coat of arms. The revival of hop growing in the Mühlviertel originated in the municipality of Auberg after the war. On the Hop Cycling Route, the trail passes through Auberg at kilometre 1.6; it then descends through the valley past hop fields. This gives the cycling route a specific regional connection that you can incorporate into your excursion planning.

The Hollerberg Festival was first held in August 1973. Today, the festival transforms Hollerberg into a celebration with its own festival grounds and programme every year.
