Palting combines varied trails, a protected lake area and notable evidence of regional history. The signposted Mattig circular trail begins at the church square, runs towards Imsee through the Mattig Valley to Mödenham and Dietersham, and then leads back to Palting. The Öd hiking trail starts in Mundenham at the GH Fürst car park. Via the Berndorfer Bach, Stockham, Bachlschmiede, Dietersham and Palting, it is approximately 6.5 km long. A southern variant leads to the “Traumeck” viewpoint in Hiltenwiesen. The Vitzthum Hand Weaving Workshop is located along the way there. Cyclists can also include Palting in longer tours: The provincial cycle paths connect to the Salzburg cycle network in the lake district and to the cycle paths of the Mattigland municipalities. The parish church’s Marienkapelle contains an Altötting Mother of God altar from the workshop of Meinrad Guggenbichler, dating from 1717.

Another cultural and historical landmark is the Laimhaus Mill in the municipality of Palting, a very well-preserved mill from the 16th century. The Vitzthum Hand Weaving Workshop recalls a now-historic craft: In 1896, Maria and Franz Vitzthum from Mundenham No. 2 learned the weaving trade from a textile specialist from the former Czechoslovakia. The range of products made at that time included linen, Gradl fabric, hand towels and red-and-blue checked bed linen.
