Feuersbrunn am Wagram is shaped by viticulture and its traditional cellar lanes. Wine traditions, cycling routes, panoramic views and historic sites offer a range of themes for a stay. When choosing a holiday apartment, you can decide whether seasonal wine events, the landscape or culture should be the focus of your trip. This lets you add your own personal touches without trying to fit every experience into a single excursion itinerary.

Wine and Cellar Lanes

The traditional Feuersbrunn Cellar Lane Festival takes place every year in early July, with wine, food and music. The exact festival dates vary, so check the dates before your trip. During the Wine Autumn and the wine blessing ceremony, several winemakers take turns opening their cellar doors. So don’t plan these visits as if all the cellars were open at the same time. A specific example of viticulture is the Florian Bauer winery: it cultivates 13 hectares of vineyards at the foot of Hengstberg and is run by the fifth generation of the family.

If you’d like to plan your travel dates around an event, there are two different options: the festival in early July and the rotating cellar openings during the Wine Autumn or for the wine blessing ceremony. For both periods, it’s worth checking the exact dates.

Panoramic Views, Cycling Route and Vineyard Landscape

The Feuersbrunn Vineyard Panorama Trail runs along vineyards and traditional cellar lanes, offering panoramic views across the Wagram and as far as the Danube Plain. By contrast, the Cellar Lane Tour is a cycling route through Feuersbrunn’s cellar lanes. The difference is therefore both in how you get around and in the perspective: the Vineyard Panorama Trail links vineyards with a wide horizon, while the cycling route passes through rows of cellars. Feuersbrunn’s vineyard landscape is home to species including ground squirrels, European bee-eaters, hoopoes, northern wheatears and woodlarks—specific species names for anyone interested in nature, too. The 38.13-kilometre-long Cellar Lane Tour is a moderately difficult cycling route. Its length and difficulty give you a concrete reference point when choosing a route; the main appeal of the Vineyard Panorama Trail is its view across the Wagram and as far as the Danube Plain.

Historic and Spiritual Highlights

At the end of the cellar lane above Feuersbrunn stands the Feuersbrunn Holy Trinity Column, a viewpoint on the Wagram. The sandstone column, about four metres high, dates from 1820 and has a neoclassical appearance.

Another spiritual highlight is the Peace Stupa in Grafenwörth. As a Buddhist symbol, it is open to people of all cultures and worldviews. Quiet meditation is possible; group meditations take place by prior arrangement with the stupa team. The Weinviertel Way of St. James also passes through Feuersbrunn: its route runs from Fels via Feuersbrunn to St. James’ Church in Etsdorf.
