Neustift-Innermanzing lies on the western edge of the Vienna Woods and combines nature experiences, trails for active days and a remarkable local history. The Laabental Cycle Path runs through the municipality and is connected to Tulln and St. Pölten. Those looking for a holiday apartment in Neustift-Innermanzing will find a place where cycling, hiking, leisure activities and regional culture can be combined into different kinds of holiday days.

Trails and leisure activities between the Vienna Woods and the Laabental

For a shorter walk, the “tut gut” Steps Trail is a good option. It is 3,857 steps, or 2.7 km, long and begins on Hauptstraße by the passage to Däneke-Platz. The Innermanzing Round Trail begins and ends at the church in Innermanzing. It can also be reached by bus via the Innermanzing Kirche stop. This information helps you plan your day according to the route length and your preferred way of arriving, without presupposing a particular walking time.

Cycling excursions can also be included in your travel plans. The Laaben Route begins and ends in Neustift-Innermanzing. Along the Laabental Cycle Path, several fitness stations with instruction boards invite you to train and try out exercises. There is also an EVN charging station with two charging points of 3.7 and 11 kW at the village square by the municipal office.

Adventure Pond, Playground and Sports

The leisure area at the adventure pond includes a natural forest pond, an extensive sunbathing lawn and sanitary facilities. It is intended for sports and leisure activities by sports clubs, locals and guests. This allows an active outing to be combined with a more relaxing break. The adventure pond area also has a large, naturally designed children’s playground. For families with different interests, this is a practical element of day planning, without everyone having to choose the same activity.

The municipality’s leisure options also include two artificial-grass tennis courts: one has a carpet surface, while the other has a clay surface. Depending on your priorities, when choosing your accommodation you can consider whether trails, cycling routes, the leisure area or sporting activities should take up the most space in your travel plans.

Churches, Chapels and Living Local History

The church in Innermanzing was completed in 1967 and dedicated to Saint Augustine by diocesan bishop Dr. Franz Zak. It is located on the regional road and is popular with passing day-trippers. The furnishings include a bronze figure of Saint Augustine by H. Grandegger dating from around 1970. A war memorial for those who fell in the First and Second World Wars also stands by the church building; an almost life-size statue of the Virgin Mary and two larger-than-life eagle figures define its design.

Further cultural and historical highlights include the Stations of the Cross in the centre of Neustift-Innermanzing and several chapels. The Stations of the Cross were erected by the KSFV between 1986 and 1989 and consecrated on 9 September 1989. Their pictorial motifs come from the work “Stations of the Cross with Children” by German painter Ludwig Baur. In Aschberg stands a 19th-century chapel, a square building with an octagonal upper section. The Eck wayside chapel on Eckstraße also dates from the 19th century and features a starry-sky painting from the second half of the 20th century. The Oberkühberg local chapel was built in the 17th century and reconsecrated in 1953.

The area’s older economic history is also part of the local character: Neustift-Innermanzing is mentioned in 1519 as “Manzing auf der Neustift”; the local history also includes the former production of pitch and charcoal burning. The surviving Imperial Oak was planted in 1908 on the occasion of Emperor Franz Joseph’s 60th anniversary of rule.

Choose Accommodation to Suit Your Travel Plans

You can focus on a walking route, a day at the adventure pond, a bike tour on the Laaben Route or cultural and historical discoveries. From Neustift-Innermanzing, you can hike to Schöpfl, considered the highest mountain in the Vienna Woods.
