Seeboden also offers cultural attractions that differ considerably from one another. Sommeregg Castle above Seeboden am Millstätter See dates back to the 12th century. The castle houses the Torture Museum, considered the largest torture museum in Central Europe, with more than 100 true-to-original exhibits. The Bonsai Museum creates a completely different impression: following classical Japanese models, it presents Zen gardens across more than 15,000 m² of exhibition and garden space. Around 3,000 bonsai trees in 120 different varieties and forms can be seen; many of the exhibits are more than 100 years old.

For a cultural exploration outdoors, the signposted “Art Along the Way” trail is an interesting option. It leads through Seeboden to sculptures by Otto Eder.
