The shore takes centre stage at Lake Rauschelesee, while the hike towards Plöschenberg adds a climb and a viewpoint. The area around Höflein also has a nature adventure playground at the Rauschelesee family beach. This gives you different options for your holiday: a loop around the lake, a trail with a view or activities for children.

Hiking trails by the lakes

The Rauschelesee loop circles the lake on natural ground and passes a campsite and a lido. If you want to make the lake the focus of your hike, this route has a clear character. The campsite and lido are additional landmarks along the way. Check the trail conditions before setting out.

A section of the Keutschach Panorama Trail passes Lake Bassgeigensee and Lake Rauschelesee. The “Keutschach Loop (Public Transport)” runs from Lake Bassgeigensee towards Lake Rauschelesee in Höflein. Unlike the loop around Lake Rauschelesee, these trails pass by both lakes or head towards Lake Rauschelesee. You can decide whether you prefer a loop around one lake or a different route.

From Lake Rauschelesee towards Plöschenberg

The “Plöschenberg, up to 780 m” hike starts at the Höflein/Rauschelesee bus stop. It passes the shore of Lake Rauschelesee and climbs towards Plöschenberg. A viewpoint with a panoramic information board offers a very fine view over the Keutschach Valley of Lakes and the Klagenfurt Basin. The hike thus combines a stretch along the shore with a climb and broad views over two landscapes. At the start, signs point towards the Zwergohreule nature trail.

Other hiking routes have additional landmarks: the “Keutschach – Bassgeigensee – Rauschelesee – Pertitschach – Spintikteich” hike runs from Keutschach to the Keutschach state road in Höflein. After crossing the Keutschach state road in Höflein, one hike follows Trail 17 towards Pertitschach. Check local conditions before setting out.
