Sonnenalpe Nassfeld can be explored through nature observation, adventure trails and mountain activities. The “In the Realm of the Wild Gang” adventure trail runs from the valley station of the Madritschenbahn on Sonnenalpe Nassfeld towards the Italian state border. The Madritschenbahn provides access to the family adventure trail and also serves as a feeder lift to the new single trails. Their availability may vary seasonally.

Wulfenia carinthiaca grows only at Nassfeld. Its flowering is seasonal, and the flowering sites are sensitive to the conditions at the time. Choose Experiences by Their Character

The “Mountain Water” Aqua Trail is a 1.5-kilometre adventure trail on the Madritsche. Check current trail conditions before setting out. A hiking route leads from Sonnenalpe Nassfeld to the Italian Winkelalm, passing Lake Nassfeld and going through mountain forests. The routes offer different points of reference when choosing a tour: the adventure trail points from the valley station towards the state border; the Winkelalm route is shaped by the lake and forest, while the Aqua Trail has a stated length. This lets you compare routes by direction, landscape or distance. It answers three different planning questions: Where does the trail lead, what landscape accompanies it, and how long is the route?

The “Almrausch” mountain playground is located on the Gartnerkofel. This children’s adventure area has eight stations and a range of tricky challenges. Its focus differs from the Aqua Trail: the Almrausch is defined by its stations and challenges, while the Aqua Trail is defined by its stated length of 1.5 kilometres.

Nassfeld Outdoor Park offers climbing, a flying fox and 3D archery. Its operating conditions depend on the weather, so take the forecast into account when planning these activities. The Däumling via ferrata is located in the Gartnerkofel massif near Sonnenalpe Nassfeld. From Tröpolach, the Millennium Express takes you to a mountain station close to the mountain station of the Madritschenbahn. Lift operations are seasonal; check the latest operating information for your travel dates.
