Simonhöhe – Hiking, Mountain Biking and Family Experiences

Simonhöhe combines mountainous scenery with a wide range of experiences for active days and shared discoveries. It is part of the Gurktal Alps and the Nock Mountains. If you are looking for an easier hike, you can plan the 1000 jährige Linde - Simale route, which is 3.40 km long, or the Paulsberg circular trail, which is 4.97 km long. Both routes are classified as easy hikes. A longer, moderately difficult option is the Zur Schaumühle - Gall RUNDWEG, which is 7.78 km long. The different trail lengths and difficulty ratings help you tailor your hiking day to your own preferences.

The Hoch-Sankt-Paul-Weg also provides a special point of orientation: after passing through Hoch St. Paul, it continues to the Simonhöhe ski area. Those interested in historical and cultural discoveries can also include the Mithras Rock above Lake Urbansee in their plans. Mountain Biking, Flow Trail and Mountain Rides

For mountain bikers, Simon's Flowtrail is one of the clearly defined offerings at Simonhöhe. The trail is 2.2 km long, classified as easy and requires basic trail skills. Since 2022, the Bärentallift has transported mountain bikers and their bicycles to the starting point of the trails at the 1,340 m-high Hocheck summit. The T02 Jumping Simon bike trail is 0.6 km long, has an elevation gain of 65 metres and is rated moderately difficult. This allows you to distinguish between an easy flow trail and a more demanding route.

Another option for active time together is the Simonhöhe mountain cart experience. Two marked downhill routes are available for this purpose. The mountain carts reach a top speed of around 30 km/h and are suitable for children aged 10 and over, adults and sporty senior citizens. You can also explore the alpine world around Simonhöhe in fully electric golf carts, known as forest buggies.

Ski Area and Offers for Children

The Simonhöhe family ski area includes four easy blue runs, four moderately difficult red runs, a difficult red-and-black marked steep slope, as well as a children's and practice area. For younger visitors, Simon's children's and practice area offers three children's and beginner trails as well as a small Mini Kids-Jumpline. In Pauli's Bear Land, children learn how to ski through play and under professional guidance. A magic carpet measuring around 100 m in length complements this beginners' area. Simonhöhe is also considered a tip for relaxing full-day and half-day ski tours.
