Sheki: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The Shebeke windows of the Sheki Khan Palace consist of thousands of coloured glass and wooden pieces assembled without glue or nails. International events take place periodically in Sheki, including the Great Silk Road International Music Festival. Crafts and Cuisine

Visitors can meet local artisans, buy handmade goods and visit a Shebeke workshop in the fortress. At the Sheki Silk Combine, they can observe the production of silk products and learn more about silk production.

Local confectionery shops in Sheki organise masterclasses on making halva based on family recipes preserved for centuries. Sheki halva is made from multilayered rice-flour dough with walnuts, syrup, spices and saffron.

Nature

The Qumux–Qaşqaçay route in the wider regional surroundings of Sheki is fully marked and offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It is mainly forested and suitable for easy nature hikes.

The Baş Göynük–Kiş route in the wider regional surroundings of Sheki is also fully marked and passes through forests, summer pastures, mountain landscapes and wooded valleys.
