Near Altiaghach lies Altıağac National Park. It comprises mountain forest, mountain meadows, semi-desert and forest steppe, is located at an altitude of 1,200 metres and covers 11,035 hectares. Deciduous forests cover 90.5 percent of Altıağac National Park.

A road approximately 40 kilometres long runs westwards from the Guba–Baku main road towards the mountain village of Altiaghaj. Altıağac National Park is described as accessible from Guba and Baku.

The trip to the ancient village of Xirək is a 14 km car route and is suitable for all age groups.

Organised hikes in the Candy Cane Mountains can be booked through tour operators in Baku and are preferably undertaken in autumn or spring.
