At Khlong Chao Beach, freshwater from Khlong Chao Waterfall flows into the sea—a striking transition from waterfall to coast. Ko Kut, the southernmost island in the Ko Chang archipelago, also offers beaches, waterfalls and places where local traditions and nature tourism play a role.

Waterfalls and Beach Locations

Khlong Yai Ki Waterfall has clear, cool water and is suitable for swimming. If waterfalls are a particular interest when planning your trip, you’ll find a specific destination here. Khlong Chao Waterfall is also known as “Anam Kok”: it received this name after a king visited Ko Kut in 1911.

Khlong Hin Beach (หาดคลองหิน) is approximately 300 metres long. Its clear seawater is suitable for swimming, and the beach is also designated as a diving site for observing coral. These details offer two distinct ways to enjoy a stay: time by the water and an interest in coral. The dive site near Ko Raet is also located close to Ko Kut. There, you’ll find coral and submerged animal sculptures that provide a habitat for marine fish.

Another point of reference is Tapae Beach (หาดตะเภ), which lies in the north of Ko Kut. This lets you match beach names with a specific compass direction as you plan your explorations of the island.

Island Culture and Special Places

Ban Ao Yai is an old community on Ko Kut, where local knowledge and diverse cultural traditions have accumulated over time. It’s also of interest to visitors who want to get to know island life as well as its beaches and waters. Ban Ao Yai is also a popular place for tourists to buy seafood.

Activities in nature tourism, including communal coral conservation, are organised in Ban Ao Yai. Visitors take part in activities to release aquatic animals there alongside the Trat Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Center. These activities combine nature tourism with hands-on experiences relating to marine life and coral conservation.

The fishing village of Ao Salat lies in the northeast of Ko Kut and offers an opportunity to discover the island’s culture. Khao Ruea Rop offers a different cultural highlight: the site consists of three large natural rocks whose shapes resemble the bows of warships. There is also a shrine to Prince Chumphon Khet Udomsak. Wat Ao Phrao temple has a statue of Prince Chumphon Khet Udomsak.

What experiences would you like to shape your stay?

Your interests can be a good starting point when choosing a holiday rental: would you mainly like to swim at beaches, observe coral or discover places with local culture? Ko Kut offers a variety of experiences, from Khlong Hin Beach and its waterfalls to Ban Ao Yai, Ao Salat and cultural sites. Consider which of these experiences matter most to your travel group and use them as a guide when choosing where to stay. Tapae’s location in the north and Ao Salat’s location in the northeast are specific geographical details; each refers only to the place named.

If you’d like to discover more places: Khlong Yai, Bang Phra, Ko Chang, Huai Raeng, Laem Ngop, Thung Nonsi, Mai Rut and Koh Chang Tai.
