Lete: Hiking Trails and Lakes in the Surrounding Area
Accommodation in Lete
A 500-meter-long hiking trail connects Kunjho and Lete through the rocks of Thasang Rural Municipality. After the Beni–Jomsom Road was built, the old route was relocated and this trail was created. Drilling through the mountain, iron rods and retaining walls are part of its construction. The trail’s structural features bring to life how road construction altered an older route. For travelers considering Lete as a base, Kunjho is connected to the village by a specifically named trail.
Cave and Trails in the Municipality
Gurusangbo Cave is located in Ward 2 of Thasang Rural Municipality. Access is by vehicle from the Beni–Jomsom Road via Lajung and Bokshikhola to Naurikot; from there, it is a one-hour walk. When planning your day, it helps to break down the journey: the hour refers to the walk from Naurikot, not the entire trip. Unlike the hiking trail between Kunjho and Lete, the route to the cave includes a vehicle section followed by a walk.
Sekung and Bhutarchho: Lakes in Ward 2
Sekung Lake and Bhutarchho Lake are also located in Ward 2. The rounded Sekung Lake is about 150 meters long and 20 meters wide; it lies at an elevation of 2,725 meters. A 191-meter-long stone-paved footpath runs around it. A 3.51-kilometer road was built from Tangchhar on the Beni–Jomsom Road, past Sekung Lake, to Bhutarchho Lake. The walk between the two lakes takes about 30 minutes. This connection makes a difference when planning an outing: the footpath between the lakes is identified as a separate section, while the road connection describes a longer route within the municipality.
A post dated August 18, 2025, also mentions a paved public toilet with two rooms at Sekung Lake. For Bhutarchho Lake, the same post lists a 160-meter-long footpath and a paved toilet with two rooms. Bhutarchho Lake is also a habitat for various duck and bird species, as well as muntjac; specific animal sightings are not guaranteed.
Titi Lake and Choosing a Base
Titi Lake is located in Ward 5 of Thasang Rural Municipality and in the vicinity of Lete and Kobang. From the nearby settlements of Lete and Kobang, it is about a one-and-a-half-hour walk to the lake; access options include road and footpath. The lake is home to 186 bird species, including three duck species. This species count is attributed to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project. A post dated August 18, 2025, mentions two rest shelters and 16 benches at the lake.
When choosing a holiday apartment in Lete, it is worth considering where you want to start your outing. The trail to Kunjho specifically names Lete; Gurusangbo Cave, Sekung and Bhutarchho are in Ward 2 of Thasang Rural Municipality. Titi Lake is in Ward 5 and in the vicinity of Lete and Kobang. The time estimates also refer to different sections and starting points: about 30 minutes between Sekung and Bhutarchho, one hour on foot from Naurikot to the cave, and roughly one and a half hours from the nearby settlements to Titi Lake. These are not equivalent end-to-end routes. Check current trail and road conditions before setting out.
