Parque Nacional de Cangandala is located in Malanje Province and covers 630 km². It protects the giant sable antelope and its habitat. Christianity spread in M’banza Kongo, and local elites adopted Western influences without giving up their culture. The Portuguese added stone buildings to the existing structures made from local materials and replaced some of them with stone buildings following European architectural styles.
